Refining the Classic Cast Wheel Aesthetics with Modern Technology
A street-focused model that pursues not only comfort, durability, and serviceability but also design.
Among GALE SPEED’s wheel lineup, the “TYPE-J” stands out with a distinctive personality. It proposes a new concept expressing the classical cast look with modern manufacturing and processing technologies.
The name derives from meanings such as “Japan Classic,” “Jumonji(In Japanese, which literally means a cross shape.)”,” and “Journey,” hence the name “TYPE-J.”
The unique spoke design, reminiscent of a “shuriken” (throwing star), achieves both striking visual impact and a balance of strength and lightness. The rim has wider spoke spacing with a center rib for rigidity, further adding to the cast-like feel.
The design roots come from the 1970s cross-shaped 4-spoke wheels commonly seen in cars and the spoke designs of 1980s motorcycles such as the GPZ and GSX-R. This classic style resonates with many fans of legendary bikes.
TYPE-J is a wheel that emphasizes street performance similar to TYPE-E while allowing you to enjoy a classic look. It features precise CNC 3D machining, modern design, and quality control. The rim’s well shape is deepened to improve air cushioning.
TYPE-J is a “rideable classic wheel.”
The “Contrast Cut” is a machining process where the entire wheel is anodized and then cut to expose the raw aluminum on the spoke surfaces, giving it a unique expression.
