GALE SPEED "TYPE-R" was developed with the concept of "even lighter" based on the know-how gained from the previous model "TYPE-C".
To reduce weight, the number of spokes was increased, the spacing narrowed, and the rim was lightened. This achieves better handling performance than the TYPE-C. The hub design was also reviewed, resulting in about 10% weight reduction compared to TYPE-C.
The "R" in "TYPE-R" stands for Revolution, Racing, and Radical.
The characteristic flowing rough mesh spokes with a defined rotation direction provide excellent riding feel through appropriate road feedback.
This long-selling model is the most beloved in GALE SPEED's wheel lineup, having undergone several minor changes for further weight reduction and design refinement. Even after 20 years since its release, it continues to evolve.
